The Badly Bent 2022
Welcome to The Badly Bent Version 2022! The Badly Bent is comprised of Cindi Cone (Trautmann), fiddle and vocals, Patrick Dressen, guitar and vocals, Mark Epstein, banjo and vocals, Guy Ewing, bass, and Joel Denman, mandolin and fiddle. This group of musicians has gelled into a tight, innovative ensemble, always working up new material and innovative arrangements.
The band has been recognized nationally, having won the 2005 Telluride Bluegrass Festival band competition, and has performed at over 75 festivals nationwide. We have, recently, put our focus on performing locally and regionally, with our reach being Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona.
We are excited about our upcoming new recording project, which we are hoping to release in time for the 2022 Durango Bluegrass Meltdown. A special thanks to Scott ‘Scooter’ Smith for his friendship, ears, and hard work in helping us to make that happen.
The Badly Bent, in the words of Bryant Liggett, “has been a mainstay in the local bluegrass scene for over 20 years.” The band has had a wide variety of member musicians through the years and has been able to reimagine itself with each new configuration. The Badly Bent for 2022 is no exception!
2022 will mark the 22nd appearance of The Badly Bent at the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown. As always, we are honored to be a part of this special event in Durango. From Cindi, Patrick, Mark, Guy, and Joel, thanks to all our loyal friends and fans who have stuck with us through 2 decades.
